Spring Exhibitions at RoCo
Rochester Contemporary Art Center
137 East Ave.
Apr 4, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us at RoCo for a suite of three exhibitions! This First Friday also coincides with an artist talk, a 6×6 art-making event, and our public art installation by Nova.

Explore Rochester @ 10: A Decade of People and Places celebrates the first ten years of one of Rochester’s most significant Instagram accounts, @explorerochester. Featuring a curated selection of one image from each contributor from the last decade, the display of over 500 photographs is a reflection of the city’s changing identity, captured through a wide range of diverse perspectives.

Embodied: Art and Technology in Dialogue is the latest collaboration between the Institute for Electronic Art and RoCo. It brings together recent video, multi-media, and performance artworks by Slinko, Stephanie Sutton, and Zorica Čolić. The artists’ works engage in a profound and layered exploration of identity, transformation, and the interplay between personal history and contemporary culture, all conveyed through powerful imagery of the body.

We Done It by Steven Peet explores the fraught relationship between people and the built environment. Through his acrylic paintings on canvas and paper, Peet crafts layered compositions that reflect on the unsettling and often chaotic nature of development and cities; interrogating the tension between abundance and efficiency in contemporary urban spaces.
