Elizabeth Moran Open Studio and Sequential Considerations
Visual Studies Workshop
31 Prince St.
Apr 5, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Project Space Artist-In-Residence Elizabeth Moran has been mining TIME’s corporate archives to learn more about the history of fact-checking, a profession TIME’s founders created in 1923. Moran is presently building a body of work based on TIME advertisements and the notion of factual information. In the Gallery, Sequential Considerations provides an overview of differing schools of thought with respect to visual sequence as a form of communication and expression in photography, comics, and visual books. The exhibition takes its title from a 1975 lecture by VSW founder Nathan Lyons (1930-2016) who considered how “…we might be able to consider the potentials of a visually linguistic system.”
