Lately I attribute the creative process to observing a plastic ant farm. Kitschy romantic metaphors about trudging small tunnels into the unknown depths of the unexplored dirt under a rock. I could say ant farms are about collective harvesting and existing behind a collective glass case of contemporary culture. This show is a glimpse at the studies and ideas that have mused me as of late.
Torrell Arnold is a Rochester artist and recent BFA graduate from The College at Brockport. His work focuses on the contrast of childhood curiosity and imaginative thinking vs. the strict routines of adulthood. Raised in the 90’s/2000’s, Torrell is greatly influenced by a Nickelodeon culture turned materialistic MTV culture.
ROC City Cowork is a coworking space in Village Gate, on the 3rd floor above Salena’s restaurant. We are a home for “digital nomads,” solo entrepreneurs, freelancers, and other location-independent professionals, looking for a more focused work environment than a coffee shop
