Seven years ago, just months before I was ready to step out of the closet, I held my first solo show, FULL OF FEELINGS, in a little shared studio nestled in the public market district. I let my many feelings crawl from pages of my journal to the walls of that space and invited people to come sit with me in the quiet, chaotic, depths of my mind.
I wanted people to know they weren’t alone in their loneliness.
Now, openly queer, two divorces, a fuck ton of therapy, many wins, and many losses – I know what I wish I did then.
I’m going to be okay.
Actually, I am okay.

Tiny reminders are my notes to self, my meditations, my learned experience, my processing. They’re not all lovely but they’re raw and honest and that’s what being full of feelings is really about: feeling it all and not going numb.
Most of these pieces are remnants of the building of my book Bless the Messy: Life Lessons From a Work in Progress, which will come out in June. They are the tiny trimmings of a 3 year project that never made the book but have become a reminder that even small pieces are part of the story.
