Abstracts – Why Not! by Gabriele Lodder
Pittsford Fine Art
4 N Main St.
Nov 1, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Webster artist Gabriele Lodder says that “any subject matter can be transformed into an abstract painting. Letting your imagination explore the subject matter in front of you is very freeing. Being an adventurer and loving travel wherever it takes me allows my creative thoughts to paint what I have experienced firsthand.” Gabriele is the featured artist this month and will feature many of her beautiful abstract paintings.
Gabriele is a self-taught artist starting out with watercolor, continuing with oils, and then moving onto her go-to medium, pastels. She honed her skills taking numerous workshops with locally and internationally known artists, all to build her confidence and to refine her artwork. She will display her pastel abstracts for this show.
Gabriele maintains a studio at the Fedder Building in downtown Rochester called the Main Street Artists. She is a signature member and treasurer of the Rochester Art Club; past president of the Penfield Art Association; signature member of the National Association of Women Artists; member of the Pastel Society of Western New York and many other local art organizations. Gabriele’s work has been shown and juried into and received awards in numerous exhibitions.
Gabriele believes that the true joy of painting is when you share that work with patrons and other lovers of art. She loves talking with people that are viewing her abstracts and discussing with them how they are interpreting her paintings.
Gabriele will be present from 5-8pm to greet guests and answer any questions about her work.
