“Homage to Wyeth” with Chris Manaseri

Oct 4, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for a reception for our October Featured Artist of the Month!

When Chris Manaseri was a teen, his Boston-born mother gave him two books which he still treasures, The Complete Poems of Robert Frost, and the catalog of Andrew Wyeth Dry Brush and Pencil Drawings from the Fogg Art Museum show of 1968. The former inspired him to study English and become a teacher; the latter to find inspiration for his own artwork in the attention to the commonplace in Wyeth’s work. Wyeth often said, “I paint my life.” Manaseri has adopted that approach, using oil and watercolor to capture the everyday world in which he finds himself, wherever that may be. His display of work this month as Featured Artist at Pittsford Fine Art is an homage to his fascination with Wyeth, whom he met in Maine in 1997. Many of the works depict scenes which Wyeth painted, based on visits Manaseri and his wife have made to Chadds Ford, Cushing Maine and Monhegan Island. His work will be featured for the month of October.
