Pressure Gradient [Excerpt from the Feature Film]
Rochester Contemporary Art Center
137 East Ave.
Oct 6, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join RoCo on First Friday for the Opening Reception of two exhibitions, including an excerpt from the feature film Pressure Gradient in the media room. Filmed during protests in response to police violence and in the middle of a global pandemic, the film is a story of beauty and power blooming in the harshest environment.

Created by Hawk, Pressure Gradient explores the depth of human resilience and dignity in the face of generational and systemic traumas. Through interviews and extensive documentary footage, the film tells a story of grace and pride amid destruction in a uniquely intimate and fluid way. In this excerpt, and in the forthcoming full-length feature, the filmmaker aims to lift up the voices of the activist movement in his community and offer a love letter to Rochester, NY.
